We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. This involves tracking stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts, and investigating discrepancies. Your meticulous approach and understanding of inventory management systems will be critical to ensuring smooth logistics operations. You will work closely with various departments to ensure inventory data is up-to-date and reflects actual stock on hand. This position requires a proactive attitude and the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to uphold all safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report low stock items to procurement.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new inventory control strategies.
- Ensure adherence to all Safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Must be able to manage Lifting of inventory items as needed, typically up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily based in a warehouse environment. While some areas may be climate-controlled, others may not be. The position requires careful attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks that may involve some Lifting. Adherence to all Safety policies, including the correct use of PPE, is essential for this role.
