Join our state-of-the-art distribution center in Seattle, Washington, as a skilled Forklift Operator. This role is essential for the smooth flow of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and potentially reach trucks, to move, stack, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently. Accuracy in handling inventory is paramount. You will work closely with warehouse associates and management to ensure operational goals are met. A strong commitment to safety, including adhering to all traffic rules within the warehouse and performing pre-operation checks on equipment, is critical. This is a fast-paced environment where you will contribute directly to our logistics operations. We provide ongoing training and opportunities to develop your skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move pallets, cases, and other materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Stack and retrieve inventory from various heights.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory locations.
- Follow all safety procedures, including wearing required PPE and adhering to load limits.
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as cycle counting.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles are clear and equipment is stored properly.
- Understand and execute all aspects of safe warehouse logistics.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
