Your role
In this position you will be providing specialized administrative and clerical support to the Business Rights department for Acquired & Scripted Programming. Your work may involve coordinating the activities of others inside or outside the unit.
Key Tasks:
- Create, update and maintain large and complex databases - for example, those supporting Business and Rights, Finance, Network Programming, and/or systems interfacing with external agencies (including finance and payment processes and systems).
- Adapt databases to CBC's changing requirements as needed.
- Compile information and prepares reports, either as part of routine reporting requirements or in response to special requests from within or without the unit, department or operation.
- Facilitates proper creation of new vendors; reviews invoices from producers and ensures that required deliverables have been received and approved by colleagues in Business & Rights and Programming; and coordinates with Finance to ensure all required payment information is accurate and complete, as well as collaborating to review projected cash outflows.
- Processes and maintains the documentation for complex administrative processes such as the payment of multi-million-dollar programming contracts with multiple vendors.
- Provide interpretation and/or clarification to employees, managers and/or clients regarding policies and procedures within area of expertise (i.e. acquisitions and licensing rights for content acquired by CBC, and related financial, programming and scheduling areas).
- Assist in compiling and manipulating data, statistical tables, charts, graphs and tables for presentation as needed, with respect to the above.
- Coordinate major functions on behalf of the department.
- As required, research and gather data from agreements and interpret for input into CBC's internal rights and financial management systems.
- Liaise with B&R, Finance and Programming Teams to ensure financial entries for programs and packages are done in a timely manner.
Your profile:
- Graduation from Community College or the equivalent.
- At least two years of experience which is directly related to the position.
- High level of discretion in handling sensitive information and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Must be well organized with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize multiple assignments.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and effectively under stress, with an ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail when operating under tight deadlines in a very fast-paced environment and with frequent interruptions.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are required (particularly Microsoft Excel), Google Workspace, PCMS and OnAir (or similar digital rights management platforms).
- Strong technical skills are required with regard to digital database management.
- Experience interpreting legal documents and agreements is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team.
- Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
