About

Our client is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst (Intermediate) to support evidence-based decision-making within Category Management by transforming procurement and contract data into actionable insights.
The successful resource will contribute as part of a team responsible for delivering business intelligence capabilities to support internal and external department stakeholders. This onsite role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work within multi-vendor environments, and proficiency in tools such as SAP, Power BI, and Alteryx.
Description:
Business Intelligence in Category Management supports evidence-based decision-making by transforming procurement and contract data into actionable insights. The role analyzes spend, supplier, and market information to identify enhance performance reporting, ensuring the unit has reliable, timely, and meaningful data intelligence.
Contribute as part of a team, responsible for delivering business intelligence capabilities to support internal and external department stakeholders' information needs.
• Deliver work products based on various sets of data including (but not limited to) procurement, contracts, finance and market data.
• Work with a selection of technology products (such as SAP, Power BI, Alteryx) that must address the ever changing
technology and increasing appetite for information from internal and external department stakeholders.
• Must be able to work effectively with a team made up of in-house staff and contract resources.
• Analyze data and prepare information results.
• Gather and document requirements.
• Design and construct information products.
• Capture business and technical metadata for information products.
• Gather requirements for control processes including schedule management, status reporting, issues, risk, and change management at the program level.
• Produce deliverables within specified quality standards and timeline.
• Define and performing quality assurance on business intelligence deliverables.
• Respond to ad-hoc information inquiries.
• Perform data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis and data mining.
• Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate.
• Work within a multi-vendor/staff environment.
Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Must Have – Education
  • Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related field of study.

Must Have – Technical Skills
  • 4 years – Experience articulating and translating technical language for non-technical customers.

  • 4 years – Experience with data concepts such as ETL, Operational Data Stores, and Data Marts.

  • 4 years – Experience presenting data in queries, dashboards, and reports in an easy-to-understand format.

Must Have – Work Experience
  • 4 years – Direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI dashboards.

  • 4 years – Experience creating and implementing business intelligence requirements.

  • 4 years – Experience with dimensional modeling techniques.

  • 4 years – Experience working in a data warehouse / business intelligence or similar data environment.

  • Ability to collaborate and work with various stakeholders.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with diverse groups.

Nice to Have – Technical Skills
  • Ability to think critically to select appropriate input data, modeling methods, and tools.

Nice to Have – Work Experience
  • 4 years – Experience using Microsoft SQL.

  • 4 years – Experience with Power BI, PowerView, Microsoft SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services.

  • 4 years – Experience with relational database modeling techniques.
