About
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice Tuesday's 8-5pm and Thursday's 8-2:00pm.. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems and dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote oral health and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health for patients.
* Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs and medical history to inform treatment plans.
* Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments.
* Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols.
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
* Review and update medical records accurately within EMR systems, ensuring documentation review for completeness.
* Maintain infection control standards by following sterilization procedures and using appropriate aseptic techniques.
* Ensure compliance with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes for billing purposes.
* Support the dental team in pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, demonstrating patience and understanding for young patients.
*Requirements*
* Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
* Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft .
* Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical terminology.
* Experience in general dentistry with additional expertise in pediatric dentistry preferred.
* Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks efficiently using proper aseptic techniques.
* Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment protocols.
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
* Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health practices.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
