Bar Leadership Position

We are looking for a skilled Bar Manager to oversee our bar operations, develop a strong beverage program, and lead a high-performing team.


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced team as we prepare to open two full bars at The Grove in Shrewsbury. As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards, developing recipes, managing inventory, and ensuring excellent guest experience.


Key Responsibilities
  • Bar Operations:
    • Maintain recipe consistency, portioning, and quality standards
    • Ensure proper setup, breakdown, and cleanliness across all bar stations
    • Manage pacing, guest flow, and coordination with the floor team
  • Team Leadership:
    • Hire, train, and coach bartenders and barbacks
    • Run tastings, recipe trainings, and bar education
    • Create and manage weekly bar staff schedules
    • Provide real-time feedback and professional development
  • Beverage Program Management:
    • Assist in developing cocktails, mocktails, wine offerings, and spirits selections
    • Maintain updated prep lists, batch recipes, and spec sheets
    • Monitor product quality, garnish prep, and seasonal changes
    • Collaborate on menu rollouts and bar-focused events
  • Financial & Inventory Management:
    • Oversee ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships
    • Track pour costs, waste, transfers, and usage
    • Manage product rotation and backbar organization
    • Support cost control strategies and monthly inventory counts
  • Guest Experience:
    • Uphold hospitality standards at the bar
    • Maintain strong presence during peak hours
    • Resolve guest issues calmly and professionally
    • Build regular clientele and local community relationships

Qualifications
  • Strong cocktail and spirits knowledge
  • Experience managing a high-volume or upscale bar program
  • Solid understanding of inventory, ordering, and cost controls
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team
  • Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure
