Position Overview:
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, ensuring both efficiency and consistency in a fast-paced, fine dining kitchen. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working in a high-volume, fine dining or similar restaurant environment. The Line Cook will follow the direction of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook ceviches, entrées, and other menu items according to recipes and the restaurant's high standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, including shelves, walls, floors, and drains.
Adhere to food safety standards, ensuring proper food storage, handling, and temperature maintenance.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
Work efficiently as part of a team to ensure orders are completed promptly and correctly.
Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
Clean and maintain kitchen utensils and equipment, handling them carefully and safely to avoid damage or injury.
Participate in the development of new dishes or menu items, offering creative input when needed.
Follow all company guidelines related to personal appearance, uniform standards, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment (preferably in a fine dining or seafood restaurant).
Experience with Peruvian cuisine or ceviches is a plus but not required.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain clean and organized workstations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Culinary training or formal education is preferred but not required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
