Food Store Team Lead Role

In this leadership position, you will oversee daily operations and assist the Team Leader in various aspects such as profitability, expense control, purchasing, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. Effective leadership skills, product knowledge, and excellent interpersonal abilities are required to lead and develop team members.

  • Create engaging store layouts and product displays that enhance customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  • Support the Team Leader in analyzing sales reports, labor data, and other performance metrics.
  • Demonstrate expertise in products and stay updated on new offerings.
  • Nurture positive vendor relationships, establish new connections, and ensure timely paperwork submission for vendor processing.
  • Work with the Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues.
  • Serve as a point person and departmental leader in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Maintain exceptional retail execution standards.
  • Promote a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, respect, and high morale.
  • Consistently communicate and model the company vision and goals.
  • Monitor customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to create a high-performing team and minimize turnover.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
