About

Prepared Foods Team Member

This role involves supporting the Prepared Foods team in preparing, serving, and stocking products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for natural foods and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Cuts, prepares, and serves hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza.
  • Samples products to customers.
  • Stocks hot and cold cases with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators.
  • Ensures product freshness by checking expiration dates and rotating stock as necessary.
  • Bails and consolidates recyclables.
  • Assists in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items.
  • Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets.
  • Participates in periodic inventory checks.
  • Arrives on time, appropriately groomed and dressed, ready to work scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly and effectively, and models suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follows established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and ensures equipment is in accordance with standards.
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned and ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
Requirements
  • Skill in basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully to fellow employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Customer service expectations and standards met in all interactions.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Passion for natural foods and company mission.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of and compliance with quality goals.
Additional Information
  • No prior retail experience required.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to temperatures 90°F.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
