Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a visually appealing display of products by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date items, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure accurate department signage and pricing.
  • Main-tain back stock in good order.
  • Keep a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment.
  • Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
  • Clean equipment, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required.
  • Prepare fish for sale; box up, label, and date cooked fish.
  • Support inventory management.
  • Be on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Foster adherence to established health and safety standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Report any hazards or violations immediately.
Requirements:
  • Ability to sell proactively.
  • Learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
  • Examine products for quality and freshness.
  • Read labels and familiarize oneself on various products.
  • Support periodic inventory checks.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow colleagues, customers, and vendors.
  • Meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
  • Follow directions and procedures; have effective time management and organization skills.
  • Have passion for natural foods and our mission.
  • Work hard and maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
