Chef de Cuisine - Lead Back-of-House Operations for an Upscale Restaurant

The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the kitchen, leading by example on the sushi line, and managing all aspects of back-of-house performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily back-of-house operations for the restaurant


• Operate as a working sushi chef first - maintaining the highest quality and precision on the sushi line


• Manage, train, and inspire a high-performance kitchen team


• Oversee scheduling, hiring, and onboarding of back-of-house staff


• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards


• Work closely with the Executive Chef to execute culinary vision and seasonal menu changes


• Create well-documented recipes and assist in maintaining recipe portfolio


• Uphold the culture and standards of excellence set by the organization

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of kitchen leadership experience, preferably in a high-volume, upscale environment


• Proven skills and experience as a sushi chef - confident, precise, and passionate


• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and communication


• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed


• Commitment to excellence in hospitality, product, and professionalism
