As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for replenishing and merchandising bakery, coffee, and juice products, while participating in regional programs for purchasing and promotions. You will also monitor inventory control, ensure accurate ordering, and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
- Main Responsibilities
- Accurately replenish products through proper buying procedures to meet customer demand.
- Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in a timely and efficient manner.
- Request and ensure proper signage to enhance customer experience.
- Implement effective controls to minimize spoilage and shrink, achieving turn goals and participating in regular inventory counts.
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
- Ensure timely and accurate orders for product to monitor inventory turns and meet customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors to secure optimal pricing and service.
- Oversee customer special order procedure to ensure seamless execution and excellent customer satisfaction.
- Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage to optimize financial performance.
- Support leadership in conducting inventories and implementing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 months retail experience with a proven track record of success.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking for 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures below 32°F (freezing), 32-40°F (refrigerators), above 90°F.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- May require the use of ladders.
