Payroll Manager Job Summary

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of employee wages. This involves managing various aspects of payroll, including statutory reporting, vacation entitlements, garnishments, and tax remittances.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Review tip sheets from all properties for accuracy prior to payroll submission.
  • Communicate effectively with HR, Finance Departments, and on-site property leaders to validate employee payroll disbursement.
  • Prepare all aspects of payroll, including batch totals and balance payroll reports.
  • Ensure statutory reporting compliance.
  • Process Human Resources information and incorporate it into payroll.
  • Accurately track and calculate vacation entitlements and accruals in accordance with company policy.
  • Prepare payroll reports for month-end processing and other payroll-related reports.
  • Deduct and submit garnishments in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile payroll-related tax remittances to ensure legislative compliance.
  • Familiarize yourself with hotel standard financial controls and operational procedures.
  • Prepare monthly labor reports.
  • Verify weekly timecards to ensure appropriate approvals have been granted.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in managing payroll, payroll processing, human resources, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related accounting roles. A background in the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software, particularly Point of Sale systems.
Work Environment

This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate business demands. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and maintain a professional appearance.
