Position Overview

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, following recipes, maintaining consistency, and ensuring all plates meet La Vecchia's standards. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper setup of your station
• Ensure food quality, portioning, seasoning, and presentation meet expectations
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
• Collaborate with kitchen team and support a smooth service flow
• Assist with prep work, receiving orders, and organizing inventory
• Uphold all health & safety guidelines and kitchen policies
• Communicate any product shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years line cook experience (Italian cuisine an asset, not required)
• Strong knife skills and understanding of cooking techniques
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices
• Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.20-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
