Seeking a Construction Project Manager with heavy civil experience in BC

A successful, self performing general contractor is hiring a Project Manager for their lower mainland operations. Reporting to the Regional Leader, the project manager will have strong time management and budgetary skills and proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects. With a strong client base, this general contractor values relationships and they want someone who values the partnerships with consultants, engineers, and clients alike. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and ensuring implementation of the safety and quality management programs
  • Working with Estimating in project pursuits, including risk management, sub contract buy outs and proposals as needed
  • Monitor project status reports for performance in safety, cost forecasting, and scheduling
  • Managing project team, client representative, consultant and trade contractor relationships.
  • Monitoring progress of the design, including compliance issues, quality, general coordination, constructability, and timing of deliverables.
  • Thorough communication of potential opportunities and challenges, and managing client's expectations through regular communication.

  • Requirements
  • Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years heavy civil construction experience with at least 3 years in a Project Management role
  • Experience in estimating civil and infrastructure projects preferred
  • Experience managing heavy civil projects such as bridges, underground infrastructure, excavations and/or road construction
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants and sub-contractors
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and project management and scheduling software,
