Job Summary:

The Culinary Operations Manager is a highly skilled leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen management, including menu development, staff training, and quality control.


Responsibilities

  • Culinary Leadership & Menu Development:



    • Create menus to develop new dishes and strategies by researching techniques and ingredients.

    • Maintain existing menus by refining recipes, adjusting portions, and ensuring consistent quality.

    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends by attending events and workshops.

    • Manage costs by analyzing food expenses and optimizing portions.



  • Quality Control & Food Preparation:



    • Oversee food preparation to ensure high standards and presentation.

    • Monitor food quality by regularly tasting and assessing dishes.

    • Enforce regulations by maintaining health and safety standards in the kitchen.

    • Manage inventory by ordering supplies, tracking levels, and controlling costs.



  • Staff Management & Training:



    • Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff by providing ongoing training and motivation.

    • Manage performance by evaluating employees and promoting a positive work environment.

    • Delegate tasks by assigning specific duties based on skills and experience.

    • Foster teamwork by encouraging communication and collaboration among staff.



  • Operational Management:



    • Estimate costs by projecting expenses for different items and labor needs.

    • Manage operations by controlling expenses, tracking spending, and identifying cost savings.

    • Oversee daily operations, including pre-shift prep and service.

    • Troubleshoot issues by addressing problems or complaints that arise.



  • Additional Responsibilities:



    • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a positive dining experience.

    • Represent the restaurant brand as a culinary ambassador.

    • Participate in industry events to stay updated on best practices.
