Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a visually appealing display by inspecting quality, maintaining cleanliness, rotating stock, filling ice tables, and performing other tasks as required.
  • Guarantee accurate department signage and pricing.
  • Maintain backstock in good order.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace and shopping area.
  • Support the sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and attractive.
  • Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as necessary.
  • Fillet, skin, and cook or smoke fish; package, label, and date cooked fish.
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks.
  • Arrive at work stations on time, appropriately dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, address customer needs promptly and effectively, and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
  • Adhere to established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace and shopping area; maintain equipment according to WFM standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Ability to sell proactively.
  • Ability to learn basic product knowledge.
  • Ability to examine products for quality and freshness.
  • Proactively review labels and familiarize oneself with various products.
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully to colleagues, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in interactions with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.
