About Laurel Bakery:

Laurel Bakery comes from Redwood Hospitality, known for the Michelin-Starred Oxalis and Place des Fêtes and Cafe Mado. Our mission is to establish Laurel Bakery as a cornerstone for artisanal baked goods; such as viennoiserie and different artisanal breads and coffee. The space is a mix of production and retail supporting both the neighborhood as well as our cafe and other projects.

We're on the lookout for passionate and talented bakers for our bakery program. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from baking and finishing viennoiserie to shaping and baking sourdough, baguettes, and other artisanal breads. Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 1-2 years of experience in bread shaping, baking, and mixing principles, focused on sourdough and baguettes. Candidates who demonstrate high skill levels and efficiency in work performance will be evaluated for the higher level of the compensation rate after 6 weeks.
  • Able to commit to 4:30am shifts
  • Full-time & Weekend availability
  • Familiarity with commercial baking equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Eagerness to learn and replicate recipes with precision.
  • Strong team player with a receptive attitude towards feedback.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards and compliance with NYC DOH regulations.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing over 50 pounds and to stand for extended periods (up to 9 hours).
