Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage labor and food costs daily
- Assist with recipe costing and maintain profitability
- Complete weekly product orders and ensure proper inventory levels
- Implement waste tracking system
- Inspect delivery of food for quality
- Maintain positive relations with vendors
- Oversee staffing and hiring processes
- Train and supervise culinary team members
- Participate in Front of House staff training
- Prepare schedules and conduct pre-shift meetings
- Manage cooks and porters
- E nsure DOH compliance and address violations
- Promote safe work habits and identify potential hazards
- Review time punches and address clocking issues
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive leadership characteristics and supervisory skills
- Ability to train others and communicate effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with vendors and customers
- Degree in Hospitality or Culinary Management preferred
