About the Opportunity
Ember Management Group is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef de Cuisine (CDC) to lead the back-of-house operations for Imoto Coral Gables, opening October 2025. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in one of South Florida's most anticipated restaurant openings, joining a company known for exceptional food, thoughtful service, and a strong, people-first culture.

This is a working, hands-on leadership position ideal for an experienced sushi chef who is ready to take the next step in their culinary career. The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Imoto kitchen, leading by example on the sushi line, and managing all aspects of BOH performance — including hiring, training, and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily back-of-house operations for Imoto Coral Gables
• Operate as a working sushi chef first — maintaining the highest quality and precision on the sushi line
• Manage, train, and inspire a high-performance kitchen team
• Oversee scheduling, hiring, and onboarding of BOH staff
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
• Work closely with the Executive Chef to execute culinary vision and seasonal menu changes
• Create well documented recipes and assist in maintaining recipe portfolio
• Uphold the culture and standards of excellence set by Ember Management Group

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of kitchen leadership experience, preferably in a high-volume, upscale environment
• Proven skills and experience as a sushi chef — confident, precise, and passionate
• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and communication
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Commitment to excellence in hospitality, product, and professionalism
