About

At INFINITEK we are working with a prominent international renewable energy developer who is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead the build-out of major wind and solar projects across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and expanding regions throughout Canada. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a mission-driven organisation backed by a well-established European parent company with 30+ years of global clean-energy success.

About the Role

We are searching for a results-driven construction leader who thrives in a high-growth, future-focused industry. The Director of Construction will oversee the full construction cycle for utility-scale wind and solar PV assets, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialists in engineering, design, permitting, finance, policy, and operations.

This role offers the chance to shape some of Atlantic Canada’s most significant renewable-energy developments—while playing a key part in the company’s long-term Canadian expansion, including forthcoming Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and new-technology initiatives.

  • Act as the Owner’s Representative on construction sites and participate in construction management meetings
  • Provide detailed progress reporting to senior leadership, lenders, and stakeholders
  • Monitor industry advancements and introduce new technologies and materials where beneficial
  • Contribute technical expertise during major contract negotiations (e.g., turbine supply, O&M, EPC)
  • Support pre-construction activities such as equipment logistics, environmental compliance, and mitigation measures
  • Lead tendering processes for EPC and construction services
  • Assist with scheduling, design, equipment selection, and contractor management
  • Provide technical support across financing, operations, and future BESS initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate brings:

  • 5–10 years of experience in wind turbine installation, delivery, operation, repair, and commissioning
  • Working knowledge of substations, collector systems, transmission infrastructure
  • Strong network in civil, electrical, and transportation contracting across the Maritimes
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong safety mindset and understanding of worksite best practices
  • Experience with solar PV, battery storage, or civil engineering work is considered a strong asset
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to convey complex information clearly

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This is more than a leadership role - it’s a chance to accelerate Canada’s clean-energy transition in a rapidly expanding market. Candidates will join a collaborative, value-driven culture with substantial international backing, exciting future project pipelines, and access to cutting-edge renewable technologies.
