Overview

The National Maintenance Procurement Manager ensures Wonderbrands' bakeries have the right maintenance parts, materials, and service partnerships to sustain high-performing, reliable operations.

Reporting jointly to the Director of Strategic Sourcing – Indirect and the VP of Manufacturing, this role leads the national strategy for maintenance procurement — bringing consistency, visibility, and cost optimization across 14 bakeries.

You'll collaborate closely with Plant Maintenance Managers, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to align local needs with national strategies — driving transparency, operational efficiency, and long-term value across the network.

What Wonderbrands Offers:

  • Wonderbrands believes in Home Grown Talent and accelerated career growth
  • Competitive Compensation, Health, and Dental Benefits
  • Pension plan with matching contribution
  • Quarterly incentive program
  • Discount program that covers almost everything under the sun - Restaurants, gyms, shopping, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national maintenance parts and services strategy, leveraging operational data and leading indicators to anticipate needs, mitigate risk, and drive proactive decision-making.
  • Build strong supplier relationships at both national and regional levels to ensure reliable, high-quality service and parts availability.
  • Partner with Plant Maintenance and Engineering teams to forecast part requirements, support preventive maintenance programs, and minimize downtime.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring best-in-class quality, reliability, and total cost of ownership for all maintenance-related goods and services.
  • Streamline and consolidate the supplier base to unlock economies of scale and reduce complexity.
  • Standardize systems and processes across sites — ensuring alignment with ERP/CMMS platforms and corporate procurement policies.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards that deliver real-time visibility into spend, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations to manage budgets, track spend, and promote cost accountability.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, supplier reliability, inventory turns, and equipment uptime.
  • Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance maintenance efficiency, supplier partnerships, and asset reliability.
  • Act as the national liaison between corporate sourcing and plant maintenance teams, ensuring consistent communication and best-practice sharing across all facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
  • 5–10 years' experience in managing and purchasing maintenance parts within a multi-site manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple facilities.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP/CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Oracle).
  • Advanced capability in Excel or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to Wonderbrands' bakeries across Canada.
