Our client, a
well-established and growing real estate management company
in North York, is seeking a dedicated
Senior Accountant

You'll be responsible for the full accounting cycle across a portfolio of income-producing real estate properties, working closely with operations and ownership to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the
    full-cycle accounting
    for multiple commercial and/or residential properties.
  • Prepare and review
    monthly financial statements
    , bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Handle
    AP, AR, and accruals
    while maintaining general ledger accuracy.
  • Review and analyze
    tenant ledgers, rent rolls, CAM (Common Area Maintenance) recoveries, and lease-related adjustments
    .
  • Assist with
    annual budgets
    ,
    year-end working papers
    , and
    audit preparation
    .
  • Support process improvements and accounting best practices within the department.
  • Collaborate closely with property managers and senior leadership on financial results and operational insights.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years
    of progressive accounting experience, ideally within
    property accounting / real estate
    .
  • Proficiency in
    QuickBooks
    (required).
  • CPA designation
    (or actively pursuing) is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; able to collaborate across departments.
