Japanese/English Bilingual Food Regulatory Research Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking to hire a Compliance Research Consultant with a science background—particularly in food-related fields—who will conduct intensive, accurate regulatory and market research across various industries (FDA, EPA, USDA), and present clear, professional reports to clients from a consultant's perspective. Fluency in English is required. A Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth regulatory and market research, especially in food-related sectors (FDA, USDA, state, city, etc.)
• Assist clients in FDA approvals and food compliance matters
• Prepare regulatory submissions including pre-submissions, amendments, and revisions
• Communicate with FDA and other regulatory agencies as needed
• Present findings and recommendations to clients in a clear, consultant-style format
• Coordinate client projects with other researchers and assistant researchers
• Act as a liaison between clients and regulatory agencies
• Work independently and professionally with minimal supervision
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

• Bilingual in English and Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Experience in FDA food compliance or related regulatory areas
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and self-driven
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Able to manage multiple tasks independently

Preferred:

• Master's or PhD degree in a science field related to food, such as Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Agricultural Engineering
• Business experience in the food, medical, or pharmaceutical industry
• Familiarity with food labeling, food facility registration, and food safety regulations

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm (negotiable)
Location: Torrance, California
Compensation: $50,000 – $80,000 per year + Bonus (DOE and education)
