About

AWS Architect Outside IR35: £600 - £700 per day ASAP Start (5th Jan) Travel once a week / once every two weeks to London A leading international streaming platform is consolidating and modernising the core backend services that power its global content distribution. Multiple integration layers currently handled by external vendors are being brought fully in-house to enable stronger ownership, performance optimisation, and scalability. We are seeking a seasoned AWS Architect with deep API integration expertise to drive the design and delivery of secure, high-performance cloud services that underpin millions of users across North America and beyond. You will work closely with engineering squads to architect the solutions and ensure technical readiness for delivery teams. Key Responsibilities • Lead the architecture, design, and documentation of AWS cloud services and backend API integrations • Define API specifications, ensure conformance to design patterns, and prepare implementation tickets for development teams • Architect secure network boundaries including firewalls, WAF, IAM, and environment controls • Collaborate with Site Reliability, Security, and Platform teams to ensure scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency • Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning across environments • Support hands-on validation: Postman testing, proof-of-concept builds, deployment oversight • Champion best-practice CI/CD and automation principles with cross-functional teams • Engage in agile ceremonies and contribute to rapid decision-making in a fast-paced delivery environment Required Experience • Extensive background as an AWS Architect with strong certification credentials • Proven expertise in API-led integration and distributed systems • Solid understanding of networking and cloud security patterns • Experience working with multi-vendor environments transitioning to internal ownership • Ability to operate both strategically (architecture, governance) and tactically (hands-on technical work) • Strong communication and leadership skills working within cross-discipline architecture communities
