Position Overview

We're seeking a Cashier / Sales Associate who is friendly, dependable, and enjoys helping people. This position involves operating the cash register, assisting customers, and supporting daily retail operations across multiple departments (hardware, feed, and seasonal). If you like working in a dynamic environment and value teamwork, this role offers a great fit in a locally owned business.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide courteous, knowledgeable assistance
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash transactions accurately
• Maintain clean, organized checkout counters and sales areas
• Restock shelves, down-stock products, and assist with merchandising displays
• Provide product support in various departments (hardware, garden, or feed)
• Follow all Company cash-handling, Health & Safety, and customer service policies
• Participate in seasonal transitions, promotions, and store resets as directed

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work without constant supervision — takes initiative to complete daily tasks and identify what needs to be done
• Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask in a busy environment
• Comfortable using POS systems and handling cash
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs
• Students welcome — must be available a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including weekends
