Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Grande Prairie, AB, for a Senior Heavy Duty Mechanic. The role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various heavy-duty equipment, including pumps, generators, and other specialized machinery. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring all equipment is maintained to high operational standards. The role requires liaising with the operations team, maintaining service records, and adhering to safety protocols to ensure smooth field operations. This is a senior level role, and the candidate must be willing and excited to mentor intermediate level technicians.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty equipment, including engines, hydraulics, and powertrain systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and servicing electrical and mechanical systems on pumps, generators, and related machinery.
- Strong skills in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Ability to maintain detailed service records and apply organizational skills to work schedules and processes.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards applicable to industrial and construction environments.
- Previous experience in mining, oil & gas, or heavy construction industries is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic (Journeyperson Red Seal) or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Ability to drive a forklift and loader is required.
