BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the proactive care, repair, and inventory management of our specialized field tooling and CORE equipment fleet. This hands-on role ensures maximum equipment uptime in a fast-paced environment through preventative maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, fabrication, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with field operations team and external suppliers while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, fabrication, and replacement of mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components on specialty field tools and equipment 
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly) and document all activities in the FIIX CMMS platform 
  • Assemble, install, test, and commission new equipment and tooling 
  • Manage and optimize spare-parts inventory to minimize downtime 
  • Track and control incoming/outgoing field tooling inventory with accuracy 
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S/Kaizen initiatives to maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop 
  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders 
  • Respond to occasional field callouts as required 
  • Support the ongoing development and effective use of the FIIX maintenance management system

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician in a high-volume production or field-service environment 
  • Fabrication skills with proficiency in GMAW (MIG), SMAW (Stick)
  • Experience with hydraulic systems is a strong asset 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); experience with FIIX is an advantage 
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license 
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills 
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting 
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing (drug & alcohol, physical abilities, etc.) is required
