An exciting leadership opportunity is open for a driven and high-performing professional to join our team as the Electrical Manager in Kamloops, BC. This key role provides strategic direction, mentorship, and operational oversight to ensure excellence in safety, customer service, profitability, and sustainable growth. The position is based out of our Kamloops office and reports directly to the General Manager.
Cobra Electric Interior Services LP provides full-service electrical contracting to the Southern Interior Service Area of British Columbia on behalf of the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit. Cobra Electric provides a comprehensive array of electrical installation and maintenance services, focusing on traffic signal and street lighting infrastructure. The Cobra Electric brand joined the Mainroad Group in December 2020, complementing synergies with Mainroad's other electrical businesses and business partnerships.

The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:
- Completion of a degree or diploma in Business Administration or Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in a management role within a relevant industry.
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients, subcontractors, and senior leadership.
- Management experience in a unionized environment with the ability to interpret collective agreements is an asset.
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting financial reports.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract is required – Business travel is expected in this role.
- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification (asset).
- Electrical Field Safety Representative designation (asset).
- IMSA Traffic Signal Technician training or certification (asset).
- Experience with traffic signal installation and control systems (asset).
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Establish operational priorities and strategic objectives to support team performance, productivity, and morale.
- Lead daily operations and risk management for the Kamloops and Williams Lake service areas.
- Identify opportunities for operational growth within the local market.
- Meet regularly with direct reports to review performance, development, and challenges.
- Conduct site visits as required, including occasional multi-day travel.
- Coach and mentor team members to ensure understanding and execution of critical operational tasks.
- Champion a strong safety culture by modeling safety leadership and promoting a positive work environment.
- Set and manage annual performance goals for direct reports.
- Oversee procurement of small equipment, materials, supplies, and services while maintaining budget adherence.
- Prepare quotes and estimates, working closely with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to support internal processes and workflow efficiency.
- Work with the Safety Coordinator on corporate safety initiatives, documentation, reviews, and training.
- Participate as needed on the internal EOSH Committee.
- Support safety program requirements including investigations, training coordination, and documentation review.
- Attend corporate meetings and events as required.
- Provide customers with timely updates on projects, ensuring expectations, deliverables, and contract timelines are met.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and reinforce employee awareness.
- Build and maintain positive communication with IBEW Local 993.
- Provide oversight, support, and corrective guidance to staff as needed.
