Burnside is hiring a Civil Engineering Technician or Technologist to join our Wingham office and contribute to municipal infrastructure and drainage projects across Ontario. This opportunity is ideal for recent or upcoming graduates who want to build technical expertise while making a meaningful impact in rural communities.
What You'll Accomplish in Your First 12–18 Months
- Produce 10+ detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for drainage infrastructure, road construction, and land development projects.
- Support 5+ field surveys and inspections, contributing to layout, construction reviews, and deficiency reports.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, quantities, and tender packages for active municipal projects.
- Operate GPS and Total Station equipment to collect and manage survey data for project documentation.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality results on stormwater and drainage systems.
- Contribute to contract administration by attending site visits, organizing documentation, and preparing reports.
What We're Looking For
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Technician program, with eligibility for CET designation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and a strong grasp of engineering design principles.
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute to a fast-paced project environment.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Experience in consulting or agriculture (considered an asset).
