Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and cake decorating, along with experience in food preparation within a restaurant and bakery environment. Also experience with Asian baked goods and flavours. Experience in a supervisor or management position. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality pastries that delight our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring presentation meets our quality expectations.
  • Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items that align with seasonal offerings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Handle food products safely, ensuring proper storage and packaging to maintain freshness.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and accommodating special requests.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, a small team.
  • Coordinate orders, catering, events, production sheets, inventory.
  • Ordering and receiving of supplies.
  • Food safety and Sanitation .

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
  • Strong skills in cake decorating and baking techniques are essential.
  • Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is required.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant setting is advantageous, along with general kitchen experience.
  • Previous experience as a supervisor or management role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

  • Baking: 3 years (preferred)
  • Pastry : 3 years (preferred)
  • Food management: 1 year (preferred)
  • Food service: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safety Certification (preferred)
