Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team and cover a Maternity leave contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
Enter key data of financial transactions in the database
Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation discrepancies
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in an accounting role
Knowledge of GST is an asset
Must be competent with MS Office, Excel, databases, and accounting software
Must have at least 2 years of college or university accounting studies
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
