Early Childhood Educator

· Ensure that program meets all of the provincial licensing regulations.

· Ensure that operational policies established by the company are implemented.

· Ensure that the curriculum meets policies established by the company.

· Observe and participate in daily routines and activities regularly.

· Review daily schedule and weekly program plans.

· Meet with other staff members in your program on a regular basis to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.

· Daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor and individual/group activities.

· Develop and follow a daily schedule that incorporates child/teacher directed activities, care routines, and transition times – plan activities accordingly.

· Provide opportunities for physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.

· Use a variety of teaching techniques in order to incorporate all learning styles modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing.

· Encourage and assist children in becoming independent (self-help skills).

· Ensure guidance of children's behaviour that encourages a positive self-concept.

· Contribute to the ongoing operation of the Centre.

· Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Childcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
