General Construction Labourer or Apprentice Carpenter

Our company is growing and we are looking to add a general construction labourer or 1st year apprentice carpenter to our team of passionate, well-educated craftspeople. At Frontera, we share a love for building and a curiosity for progressing our trade that extends well beyond the work site. Our team consists of highly skilled carpenters proficient in large-scale, character home renovations and new construction. We specialize in finish carpentry and employ innovative building techniques, including passive house and net-zero construction methods.

We are a boutique firm with a mission to construct and restore architecturally designed residences in both the existing and new construction sectors of our industry, while guiding homeowners through a customer-centric homebuilding experience. As a general labourer or first year apprentice, you'll help keep job sites running smoothly—handling materials, assisting carpenters, setting up tools, cleaning and organizing work areas, and supporting all aspects of the build. This is a great opportunity to learn the trade, gain hands-on experience, and grow into an apprenticeship role. You will report to the Lead Carpenter and Site Superintendent and collaborate with the broader team to bring projects to life.

Work Shifts: Weekday schedule - 5x8 hours Dec-Jan / 4x10 hours Feb-Nov

Carpenter Duties:

• Assist carpenters and site supervisors with day-to-day site tasks;
• Perform general labour duties including site cleanup, material handling, and basic framing or formwork;
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently;
• Support all phases of residential construction project;
• Communicate effectively with the team, subcontractors, and clients as needed.
• Maintain a safe and organized job site;
• Participate in company-wide safety initiatives and uphold job site safety standards.
• Other duties as needed may apply.
