Position: Cook
We're seeking a skilled Cook to prepare delicious dishes that delight our guests with exceptional flavour and timely service. The ideal candidate can confidently follow recipes, move efficiently in a busy kitchen, and work seamlessly as part of a team. Experience with a wide range of ingredients and cooking techniques is a must. Our goal is to maintain and elevate our reputation as one of Ottawa's most beloved restaurants.
Responsibilities:
- Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting, etc.)
- Cook dishes using a variety of utensils and methods (grilling, sautéing, frying, etc.)
- Monitor food during preparation, stirring and turning as needed
- Ensure beautiful plating and presentation of each dish
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen
- Properly store all food and ingredients
- Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook
- Proficiency with cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of multiple cooking methods and techniques
- Strong understanding of sanitation and food safety procedures
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
- Excellent communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
