About the Role
We're looking for a
Portfolio Manager who is already registered as an Advising Representative (AR)
with the OSC or another Canadian provincial regulator. This is a
must-have requirement
.
This is a unique role that blends
hands-on discretionary portfolio management
with the opportunity to
shape the most tech-forward wealth management platform in Canada.
Roughly half your time will be spent managing client portfolios, and the other half contributing to the growth of the firm — from advisor enablement to product development to sales support.
Over time, you can choose to
lean more heavily into what you enjoy most
(whether that's pure portfolio management or a broader hybrid role influencing how modern wealth management is built).
If you want to combine managing real portfolios
today
with helping define the future of advisor technology and client experience, this is that role.
What You'll Do
Portfolio Management (~50% of the role)
- Manage discretionary client portfolios using our evidence-based investment framework.
- Review client risk profiles, KYC updates, suitability, and IPS alignment.
- Monitor portfolio drift, perform rebalancing, and implement strategic changes.
- Handle investment-related client conversations: performance, positioning, and rationale.
- Ensure all activities adhere to OSC regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with our CCO on documentation, oversight, and PM processes.
Firm & Platform Development (~50% of the role)
You'll help scale a modern wealth management firm by contributing to cross-functional initiatives based on your strengths and interests, including:
- Supporting other advisors with portfolio construction, client scenarios, and investment analysis.
- Providing structured product feedback to influence how our advisor OS and client portal evolve.
- Participating in roadmap discussions and helping shape investment tools and workflows.
- Contributing portfolio insights to sales or onboarding conversations when needed.
- Collaborating with leadership on refining methodologies, model portfolios, and investment frameworks.
- Taking part in operational improvements that make our advisor experience more scalable and consistent.
As we grow, you'll have the flexibility to specialize
— either deepening into portfolio management or expanding your footprint across product, operations, advisor success, or strategy.
You're Perfect for This If You
- Want to blend traditional portfolio management with the excitement of helping build a modern wealth-tech firm.
- Are energized by improving processes and delivering a consistently high-quality advisory experience.
- Bring clarity, good judgment, and structure to complex financial decisions.
- Enjoy working cross-functionally with product, operations, and advisor teams.
- Care about shaping something bigger than your own book of clients.
Requirements
- Active Advising Representative (AR) registration
in good standing with the OSC or another Canadian securities regulator (mandatory). - Experience managing discretionary portfolios and engaging directly with clients.
- Strong understanding of suitability, KYC, IPS frameworks, and portfolio construction.
- Excellent communication skills in both client-facing and internal settings.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, tech-forward environment and giving actionable feedback.
Bonus Points
- Experience with evidence-based investing or factor-based strategies.
- Background in financial planning or supporting advisors.
- Previous experience in fintech, startups, or tech-enabled advisory models.
- Curiosity about how technology can scale great advice.
What Success Looks Like
- Portfolios are managed with accuracy, consistency, and strong oversight.
- Advisors feel supported and confident leaning on your expertise.
- You become a key voice in shaping how our investment platform and advisor OS evolve.
- Clients have clarity, confidence, and alignment with their long-term plan.
- You help build one of the most modern, advisor-friendly firms in Canada.
