Position Summary/Objective:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for protecting our core values and ensuring a safe and productive workplace.

Shift: Thursday to Saturday and every other Wednesday - from 8 pm to 8:30 am.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a production team of hourly employees, on multiple lines, leading by example and ensuring compliance to company's policies across the shift related to Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as Food Safety and Quality,
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products including but not limited to developing plans for efficient use of material, machines, and people for their shift.
  • Lead by example to train, develop, and inspire production teams to establish a high-performance culture, where we all work coherently to "win" together.
  • Responsible for maximizing the efficiency on each line, working collaboratively with other departments (ie. Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, Quality.) to achieve departmental/company goals.
  • Lead and drive root cause analysis to identify and eliminate issues that may arise, recommending solutions to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Partner with temp agencies as the primary contact to review people requirements, and staff shift appropriately.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving employee hours through the payroll system (ADP), as well as managing vacation requests, upholding the company policy related to time off.
  • Work alongside the People & Values team regarding any employee relations that may occur, including assisting with investigations and following the company's progressive coaching initiatives.
  • Provide proactive Health & Safety leadership, to ensure that our behaviour-based observations are completed, and accidents/incidents are reported in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Science, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience within a Manufacturing environment preferred, with a good understanding of manufacturing processes, regulations regarding safety, quality and GMPs
  • 2 years of experience within the food manufacturing field
  • Proficient computer skills, including and not limited to Microsoft Office, and familiarity working with ERP.
