We are partnering with a market leader in the growing healthy snacks industry to hire a newly created Director of Finance Transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of its finance organization by partnering with executive leadership to modernize systems, streamline processes, and build a scalable, best-in-class finance function that fuels continued growth and innovation.
Our client is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of private label healthy snacks in North America, holding the leading market position in their categories. The company employs more than 1,000 associates and operates three domestic plants. These facilities source, process, package and distribute products to premier retail customers across the country.
The Director of Finance Transformation is a high impact role, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This key leader will bring a strategic perspective, coupled with a drive for results, to lead the design and execution of initiatives that standardize and modernize finance processes to drive efficiency and ensure scalability. Partnering with leaders across the organization, the Director of Finance Transformation will build a best-in-class finance function that supports the clients growth strategy and future-state vision - from plan development through execution and change management, to implementation of targets/metrics to track progress. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the finance & accounting function (roles, activities, processes, systems), strong financial acumen and modeling skills, demonstrated success leading transformation initiatives, and the leadership presence to influence to drive change at all levels of the organization. Ability to succeed in dynamic environment is a must.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Partnering and Transformation Planning
- Serve as a partner to the senior management team and business leaders across the organization to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement (including revenue growth, cost structure optimization, operational efficiencies, etc.), quantify value creation opportunities, and develop both short- and long-term transformation plans and roadmap.
- Define the finance technology strategy, identifying short- and long-term automation and integration opportunities, and outlining the resources required for successful implementation.
Functional Assessment and Change Management
- Assess core finance processes, systems, and organizational structure to identify opportunities to enhance efficiency within Finance & Accounting, strengthen controls, and improve overall performance.
- Evaluate current KPIs across the organization and establish best-in-class metrics to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives, including impact analysis, business readiness assessments, and the management of project risks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive change management plan, including communication strategies, to ensure smooth adoption and sustainable transformation across the organization.
- Proactively communicate progress, risks, and challenges related to transformation initiatives to key stakeholders and executive leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or CMA designation, or equivalent experience (including a blend of industry and public accounting).
- Proven ability to drive transformation, improve processes, mentor teams, and upgrade talent as needed. 7-10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in middle-market, private equity-backed manufacturing or industrial companies preferred.
- Highly motivated individual who can follow through and work with minimal supervision or direction.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills with extensive experience effectively collaborating, influencing, and leading teams and individuals across functions.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a collaborative approach to partnering with business leaders.
- Skilled in developing business-driven financial analysis and recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities, maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, and strong skills in Microsoft Office tools.
