As General Manager, You Will

The General Manager oversees all aspects of restaurant
operations, including front of house and back of house. The General Manager leads
and collaborates with the entire team and fosters a culture that is safe,
inclusive and fun  The General Manager
is laser focused on ensuring the guests have a memorable experience that only
Gahan House can provide.

The Duties

  • Execute
    the financial, marketing, and human resource strategies that ensure the
    successful operation of the restaurant
  • Accountable
    for restaurant financials (e.g. labour costs, cost of goods sold and costing
    team schedules)
  • Communicate
    the Gahan House vision to all team members, reinforce MHG core values and lead
    by example
  • Work
    with HR team to execute hiring strategy, ensuring restaurant is staffed appropriately
  • Oversee
    training plans, ensuring all staff have the required knowledge and skill to
    perform their roles and that MHG's standards and operating procedures are met
  • Lead,
    mentor and positively coach employees to achieve their career goals and restaurant
    goals and objectives
  • Work
    with the Assistant General Manager to plan and execute private events and reservations
  • Promote
    and market the restaurant - get involved in the community  (e.g. attend off-site events, volunteer
    events, community events and fundraisers, etc.)
  • Provide
    leadership and a passion for excellence regarding food, beverage and menu
    development
  • Build
    and maintain authentic relationships with guests and team members; handle high
    level requests and complaints as required
  • Provide
    conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques as required
  • Jump
    in to assist the team on the floor in any front of house duties as required
  • Lead
    weekly Management meetings communicating all financial, operational, marketing
    and HR related strategies
  • Communicate
    and collaborate with all internal MHG functions and departments; work closely
    with Head Office on MHG initiatives

What You Bring

  • Previous
    Restaurant Management experience is required
  • A
    post-secondary diploma/degree in business or hospitality is considered an asset
