Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Person to join our team in providing nutritious and appealing meals for residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, food safety, and sanitation, with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of residents by preparing meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences.

The ideal candidate is organized, patient, and committed to supporting seniors with dignity and respect. Experience in cooking for large groups or in a healthcare/retirement setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences
  • Assist with food handling, cooking, and meal preparation to ensure timely service
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas
  • Follow food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met
  • Manage time effectively to prepare multiple meals within scheduled timeframes
  • Assist with meal plating and serving residents or patients in a respectful and courteous manner
  • Support with inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating stock as needed
  • Adhere to all health regulations and facility policies regarding food handling and sanitation

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry environments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff
  • Ability to handle food safely and maintain proper sanitation practices
  • Good time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic kitchen experience including cleaning, sanitation, and food handling procedures
