*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and terminology. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing professional cleanings, patient assessments, and supporting overall dental care delivery while adhering to strict infection control and HIPAA regulations.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to prevent oral disease.
* Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and dental charts.
* Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols.
* Assist dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in Open Dental
* Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
* Review medical records for relevant health information prior to treatment.
* Support pediatric dentistry services by providing specialized care tailored to children’s needs.
* Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient practice operations and high-quality patient care.
*Requirements*
* Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
* Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments
* Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental (can train if needed)
* Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
* Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and documentation review accurately.
* Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
* Knowledge of medical coding and medical terminology relevant to dental records management.
* Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings.
* Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of patient care. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $34.81 - $45.00 per hour
