Quality Assurance Inspector Work Location: Cavalier, ND (Cavalier SFB) Salary:
Based on experience and discussed with the manager during the interview. Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screen. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct thorough observations and investigations throughout construction phases to ensure compliance with project schedules, specifications, and shop drawings. Identify problems, suggest improvements, and evaluate the need for contract modifications. Perform detailed inspections and prepare daily site reports within RMS, documenting work progress, activities, safety concerns, and subcontractor manpower. Assist in the comprehensive contract modification process, including preparing scopes of work for RFPs, drafting government estimates, reviewing contractor proposals, and creating contract modification documentation. Review and analyze contractor plans and technical submittals for approval, which may include progress schedules, environmental considerations, safety protocols, quality control programs, certifications, and shop drawings. Prepare correspondence concerning contractor performance, Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and address other technical matters. Compile both partial and final payment estimates, including measurement and calculation of pay item quantities, material verification, and completion percentages for lump sum items. Monitor and review the scheduled progress of all construction activities, alerting the Resident Engineer, COR, and project team of any potential delays or slippages. Participate in RFI and Submittal reviews, collaborating with designers, Resident Engineers, and technical experts to respond effectively to contractor inquiries. Maintain project data logs as necessary to support project management and informed decision-making. Perform any other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience: A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED; a construction-related degree is preferred. At least 5 years of relevant experience in large and complex multimillion-dollar federal construction projects, with a preference for Department of Defense or USACE experience. Familiarity with RMS 3.0 is preferred. Experience with a three-phase inspection process. Knowledge of OSHA standards and the EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual is preferred.
