The primary focus of our manufacturing/product expertise is in the area of specialty, overhead garage doors, garage door hardware, door openers and related products. These products are designed for optimum reliability and durability in challenging environments such as wet, corrosive, dirty and/or high-use types of applications. These products are also preferred in many standard environments where superior quality materials and specialty features are important. Position Summary: The Sales Team Member is responsible for driving revenue growth through prospecting, quoting, selling, and customer support across target markets. This role combines sales, account management, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver effective solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude. They are dependable, trustworthy, and accountable, with a strong commitment to both individual performance and team success. We believe long-term growth comes from teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and mutual support. Sales team members are expected to contribute beyond individual results by sharing best practices, supporting onboarding and training, participating in cross-functional initiatives, and collaborating on strategic accounts. Consistently uncooperative or siloed behavior, even with strong sales performance, may lead to corrective action. The Sales Representative will be expected to adopt and fully utilize sales enablement tools and communication tracking systems. These tools will support the logging of emails, phone calls, contact touchpoints, and lead activity. While specifics and metrics may evolve over time, all sales activities will ultimately be tracked digitally to ensure transparency, pipeline management, and continuous improvement. As new sales technologies are introduced, participation in shaping best practices and systems will be expected. This position is eligible to participate in the Company's Sales Commission Plan. The Sales Representative acknowledges that participation is contingent upon meeting performance expectations and adhering to the terms of the Commission Plan in effect at the time. By accepting this position, the Sales Representative agrees to the terms and conditions of the Company's Sales Commission Plan, including any future updates or modifications communicated in writing. Commission payments are calculated based on the Plan and are subject to change at the Company's discretion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales, Estimating, Pricing & Customer Service Utilize sales enablement tools and communication tracking systems that will support the logging of emails, phone calls, contact touchpoints, and lead activity. Deliver on individual sales and profit goals as set by American Garage Door Supply. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold outreach, and relationship-building with end users and resellers. Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, quoting, closing, and post-sale support. Support pricing and margin goals by participating in quote development and profitability reviews. Monitor orders, timelines, and customer communications to ensure satisfaction and retention. Assist customers in product selection based on needs, specifications, and compliance requirements. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of American Garage Door Supply's products. Conduct on-site visits and product presentations as required. Assist in developing pricing guidelines, batch pricing and profitability standards in coordination with management. Provide responsive customer service, resolving complaints while protecting the company's reputation and minimizing cost. Communicate order updates to customers, including delays or rescheduling, and coordinate with production to minimize disruptions. Calls delinquent accounts for collections when personal involvement is appropriate and necessary. Marketing Collaborate with the Marketing team to coordinate campaigns, promotions, and product launches. Help track and interpret market trends to inform product positioning and messaging. Meets with Marketing entities on a regular basis to suggest and coordinate promotions and other marketing efforts to align with and meet sales goals and objectives. Supports and practices efforts to keep data complete, accurate and usable in company CRM Contribute to catalog, website content, video presentation and scripts, and customer-facing media. Attend and support tradeshow events and promotional initiatives.
Competencies/Skills Required: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM tools. Understanding of sales strategy, product promotion, and customer service principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and support a team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy; organized with solid time management skills. Ability to assess customer needs and offer tailored solutions using technical knowledge. Analytical thinking to troubleshoot problems and propose solutions. Upholds confidentiality and adheres to company safety and compliance policies.
Physical & Environmental Requirements: Regular use of hands, arms, hearing, and vision (close, depth perception, and focus adjustment). Occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting up to 50 lbs during facility tours, customer demos, or tradeshow setup. Work is primarily performed in a quiet office environment, with occasional visits to production areas with moderate noise. Periodic travel may be required to customer sites or industry events.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree in business or technical related field. Minimum of 5 - 8 years related experience in sales/marketing.
