About

Purpose of the Role To manage and lead the Hardware Engineering Team for the hardware design and development of electronics hardware in line with Flusso's product roadmap and to meet the requirements of customer design‑in projects. This includes hands‑on contributions to the specification of hardware designs and software/firmware interfaces, hardware design, debugging, and development of in‑house test firmware/software.
Responsibilities
Line management and leadership of the Hardware Engineering Group, managing a team of hardware design engineers, electronics assembly and test technicians, setting priorities, conducting regular meetings, mentoring, and annual performance reviews.
Hardware design and development: ensuring specifications are approved, managing complete design documentation, reviewing and manufacturing to applicable Flusso and external standards (e.g. safety, EMC).
Develop in‑house sensor test platforms, interface adapters (USB‑I2C, USB‑CAN, etc.), sensor electronics modules, mechanical fixtures, and PCBA manufacturing at service providers.
Manage design status communication, contribute to system‑level bring‑up, and provide firmware support where required.
Select and manage external contract manufacturers and transition designs to volume manufacturing.
Manage the electronics engineering lab: facility layout, equipment maintenance, health and safety, waste management, component and material stocks.
Ensure compliance with Flusso’s ISO9001 & 14001 certifications, health and safety policies and procedures, and conduct peer review of reports and documentation.
Requirements A bachelor's degree in an engineering or science subject is a prerequisite.
Background as a hardware engineer with experience in digital and analogue design, schematic capture, layout CAD tools, and liaison with PCB fabrication and assembly houses.
Line management leadership of a hardware engineering group.
Experience developing within a quality management system using appropriate documentation and design/source control tools.
Project planning and execution skills.
Effective collaboration with firmware, mechanical design, sales, and marketing teams.
Design of high‑volume, cost‑sensitive products and liaison with contract manufacturers.
Preferred:
Development of hardware for sensor products and understanding firmware support.
Familiarity with sensor testing methods and supporting infrastructure.
Development of products for automotive, medical or safety‑critical applications.
