Role Purpose
The Head of Group Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading and overseeing all sales and marketing activities across the group, ensuring the delivery of revenue targets, growth objectives, and customer engagement strategies. This role drives commercial success, builds strong customer relationships, and develops strategic marketing initiatives to enhance the group’s market presence. This position supports both strategic growth and operational excellence, ensuring smooth collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams. Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the group’s sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets. Identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and secure new contracts across all divisions. Manage key customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business. Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts to the Managing Director or Board. Implement structured sales processes, KPIs, and performance metrics across the sales teams. Collaborate with Finance to establish pricing strategies and maintain profitability. Develop and implement marketing strategies to strengthen brand awareness and market position. Oversee digital marketing, content creation, events, campaigns, and communications across the group. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with business objectives and support sales activities. Build and manage the marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development. Leadership & Team Management
Lead, motivate, and develop the sales teams to deliver high performance. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and commercial excellence. Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and succession planning for team members. Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of key personnel within Sales and Marketing. Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering and Production to ensure accurate delivery commitments and technical alignment with customers. Partner with Quality and Compliance teams to ensure marketing and sales practices meet regulatory and industry standards. Collaborate with Operations and Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning. CRM & Systems Management
Maintain accurate customer and sales data within CRM systems to track performance and opportunities. Analyse data to provide actionable insights and inform strategic decision-making. Ensure consistent reporting, dashboards, and documentation for Board and senior management. Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership within engineering, electronics, or manufacturing sectors. Strong understanding of B2B sales processes, customer relationship management, and strategic marketing. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement commercial strategies that deliver measurable growth. Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and data-driven decision-making. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and deliver results. Personal Attributes
