*Job Summary:*Under the supervision of the department Practice Manager and/or physician, this position performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic exams. This role functions within a team-based approach to care, with team members trained to meet the highest level of function for their role in accordance with Tennessee/Georgia guidelines.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Performs diagnostic radiographic exams and assigned radiologic testing
* Provides direct patient care under physician direction
* Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary for age-appropriate patient care
* Assesses patient data and interprets information to determine age-specific care needs in accordance with department policies
* Plans and organizes the operation of radiology services in the facilityPerforms scheduled radiologic procedures
* Assists in delivering primary healthcare and patient care management under physician or nurse direction
* Preparing patient histories and vital signs
* Setting up exam rooms and instruments
* Collecting laboratory tests and processing waived laboratory tests
* Preparing and maintaining supplies and equipment for examination and treatment
* This position also supports other practice operations as assigned by the Practice Manager or physician, and maintains order and cleanliness of assigned areas
* Additional responsibilities may include registration, triage, and clinical assistance when needed.
*Education:*
* A graduate of an approved JRCERT radiologic program (The Joint Review Committee/DNV on Education in Radiologic Technology)
*Position Requirement(s): *
* License/Certification/Registration
* Basic computer experience (1-2 years' work experience or college level classes)
* ARRT certified (compliant with all continuing education mandates)
* ARRT registry eligible (must complete within one year)
* Radiological student from an approved Radiology program that has completed all academic courses (must be registry eligible within three months and complete registry within one year)
* BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward
* Hospital clinical experience
*Preferred Requirement(s): *
* Six months hospital and/or physician office experience
