*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to children across various settings, including outpatient clinics, schools, and home health environments. This role involves developing and implementing individualized care plans aimed at improving functional independence and quality of life for pediatric patients with diverse needs, including those with autism, disabilities, or recovering from acute or post-acute conditions.
*Duties*
* Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric patients to identify their unique needs and challenges.
* Develop and implement personalized treatment plans focused on enhancing motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
* Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, feeding, and grooming to promote independence.
* Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and discharge planning.
* Provide therapy sessions in various settings including outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments.
* Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
* Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support ongoing development at home.
* Document patient progress accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
* Participate in case management activities to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
* Stay current with advancements in pediatric occupational therapy practices, physiology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge.
*Skills*
* Strong understanding of pediatric development and disabilities, including working with children with autism and other developmental delays.
* Experience assisting with ADLs and discharge planning for pediatric patients.
* Knowledge of early intervention programs and outpatient therapy protocols.
* Familiarity with inpatient care settings such as ICU experience or acute care environments is a plus.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in skilled nursing facilities or post-acute care settings.
* Excellent communication skills for working with children, families, educators, and healthcare providers.
* Proficiency in developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
* Capable of managing case loads efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
* Knowledge of speech therapy integration when necessary for comprehensive pediatric care. Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $90.00 per hour
