Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components for commercial metal cladding and construction projects. This position requires precision, craftsmanship, and a strong understanding of fabrication techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field measuring site conditions
- Fabricating and assembling custom metal trims, flashings, counter flashings, brake metal, closure strips, etc., based on blueprints, specifications, and work orders
- Operating various tools, including table saws, chop saws, band saws, skill saws, hand shears, power shears, and pneumatic tools
- Using a tape measure, various angles, and geometric shapes for precise fabrication
- Cutting, bending, forming, and fastening sheet metal flat, bar, tube, and angle stock metals
- Inspecting completed work for accuracy and quality
- Collaborating with project managers, installers, and team members to ensure timely production
- Installing products according to specifications
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean work area
- Following all safety protocols and procedures
- Delivering and picking up materials as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication (construction industry preferred)
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Proficiency in fabrication tools and machinery
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials (100+ lbs) and stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a shop or construction environment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Self-motivated and driven to accomplish projects and tasks
- Ability to understand, write and read English fluently
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed
