Location : 1035 Cambridge Street Work Days : Monday-Friday Category : Professional and Management Department : Patient Experience and Complaints Job Type : Full Time Work Shift : Day Hours/Week : 40 Union Name : Non Union The Quality and Safety Department serves as a resource center to the organization to cultivate a culture of safety, eliminate preventable harm for all patients and staff, provide high value, equitable, evidence-based care, create an excellent care experience and to develop institutional capacity in improvement science and promote data driven decision making. Under the direction of the Associate Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer, the Director of Reporting and Analysis provides leadership and management of a broad measurement portfolio including the Joint Commission, Inpatient and Outpatient Quality Reporting Programs for CMS, The Leapfrog Group annual survey and Safety Grade, and a host of quality reporting needs to the State and the Massachusetts Hospital Association. In addition this role will also support the data needs for patient engagement, staff engagement, clinical quality, and patient safety initiatives. The person will support the departmental and organizational goal of data driven decision making by developing and monitoring “just in time” metrics and cascading dashboards. They will collaborate with other directors within the department and will serve as a liaison with IT to develop and display quality and safety metrics on an ongoing basis. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare informatics, information systems, statistics, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Master’s degree (MPH or similar) preferred.
5-7 years of experience with data analytics using Google Sheets, Excel, SQL and Tableau (preferred)
Advanced computer skills with extensive experience using various software application such as Google Sheets, SmartSheet, Tableau, SQL
Knowledge of statistics and statistical analyses highly desirable
Precise attention to detail
Ability to collaborate across teams, and communicate with individuals at all levels
Strong ability to function in a highly complex organization and matrixed role
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices (i.e., rapid cycle improvement, Six Sigma, Lean, balanced scorecards, etc.), project management, patient safety concepts, data analysis, data management and statistical process control in healthcare.
High-level skill in the use of complex data in business/value development and the ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of clinical abstraction and familiarity with EPIC (preferred).
