We are currently seeking a full-time dental hygienist who is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and building lasting relationships with our clientele. *Responsibilities*
* Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient.
* Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
* Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
* Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and image quality while adhering to infection control protocols.
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive strategies to maintain long-term dental health.
* Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures, recognizing signs of medical emergencies or complications.
* Maintain a sterile environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination.
* Document all treatments, observations, and patient interactions thoroughly for accurate recordkeeping and billing purposes.
* Collaborate with the dental team on treatment planning, documentation review, and medical coding to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
* Uphold confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while managing medical records and documentation review processes.
*Experience*
Candidates should possess prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting with proficiency in dental hygiene tasks such as chairside hygiene and documentation review. Familiarity with EMR systems is highly preferred. A strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and medical terminology is essential. Experience in pediatric dentistry or pediatrics is a plus but not mandatory; however, comfort working with children is valued. Candidates must demonstrate excellent patient care skills, attention to detail in medical records management, and the ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately. Ideal applicants will have completed relevant certifications in dental assisting or hygiene practices and possess knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards. Pay: $70.00 - $78.00 per hour
